ABOUT OUR EXPERTS:

DR. ADAM SPECTOR

Dr. Spector is a native Washingtonian with a special interest in sports medicine. He has been the director of Montgomery Foot and Ankle Associates, LLC with offices in Wheaton and Rockville since 1990. Dr. Spector received a college swimming scholarship and is now a nationally ranked Masters swimmer having earned All-American Honors in 2005 & 2006. He has previously competed in triathlons and more recently in running races (from 5k to marathon distance). He is an experienced speaker and has been published in both medical and popular publications on topics ranging from running injuries to bunions to reconstructive surgery of the diabetic foot. Dr Spector is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery (ABPS) and is a Fellow in the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS). RACHEL MILLER, PT

Ms. Miller is the owner of Pro-Action Physical Therapy in Rockville, MD where she focuses on caring for athletes of all ages and abilities, especially runners. She has been quoted in Runners World Magazine and has been a monthly guest on ESPN radio (980 AM), and WTWP radio (1500 AM), discussing fitness and health-related topics for over 6 years. Rachel has lectured extensively to local running groups on the treatment of running injuries and injury prevention for over 10 years. Running has been her passion since junior high and she regularly runs races, from 5Ks to marathons. With two small children at home, she found the time to complete her 6th marathon in October, 2006. Rachel has been the Medical Coordinator of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 Miler since 2001, as well as for Marathon in the Parks 2004. To reach Rachel:

MIKE BRODERICK

Mr. Broderick is an experienced lawyer who utilizes his analytical skills to provide a unique perspective to running and coaching. He is a RRCA certified running coach who has organized the MCRRC experienced marathoners training program the last few years. Mike is also a certified personal trainer by the ACSM, NSCA and NSPA who is passionate about working with individuals who are looking to improve their health, fitness and athletic performance. He has recently branched out to instruct aquatic exercise, running and conditioning. Mike is an accomplished runner in his own right having completed many marat5hons and ultra-marathons.
